Atlanta's Gas situation... there is none

So we are only a half of a tank down, but James has a few clients this week to call on, so he really wanted to get some gas tonight. You see Atlanta is having some problems. We have almost no gas. There is only about 2-3 gas stations with gas in the city that we live in. I am not sure why we still have no gas here. When we went to FL last weekend every gas station was open for service, but not here. And it is crazy. James waited in line for an hour and a half last week to fill up. Did I mention that it is up to 4.09 a gallon. CRAZY!

So we went to COSTCO... after it closed to see how the line situation was. And it was not that bad. They had cones out and were directing the traffic so everything was fair and it moved right along. It only took us 20 minutes to top it off. So here we are in line at COSTCO

We heard that people are even camping out at gas stations because they heard that a shipment was coming in. Sure enough we drove by one gas station and there was a HUGE line down the street as the big tanker truck unloaded its gas. There was at least 20 cars waiting in the street and there were already cars staked out at the pumps... and this is at 11:30 pm. Wow people.

Frame me

These are some of the pictures that we are going to have to frame. James took a few and I took a few. I am so proud of my creative hubby. Just wanted to share.

What are your favorite photos?

A little more from Florida

We got massages. I got  pregnancy massage and James actually said that his massage felt good. I am not sure why I am so shiny
We went to a nice fancy steak dinner at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse. I got the filet Mignon.
And how could I resist the creme brule :).
And us at the beach. I love the beach. Keep in touch for the pictures that I am going to blow up and frame.  My husband is so talented with the self portrait.

More memories from FL

This was totally the tourist thing to do, but for $5 who could resist. This is a view of the lighthouse from the bottom of the square. We hiked up 208 stairs to see the views from the top.

The square had three houses where the light keepers lived. The estimated that the houses were built in the late 1800's. It was so interesting to see the floor plans of the houses and how they lived.

In the houses were articles of clothing and items they found on the grounds that belonged to the people who lived there. This was totally something that my Mom would have made us stop at on the good ol' family vacation and here I am voluntary going with my husband. It is funny how much like my mother I actually am turning out to be. Love you mom.

And what post would be complete without a picture of James making me laugh.

Belly Update

Week 27.
I got to take this one at the beach.
I miss the beach.
It is at least a 4 hour drive to the nearest beach,
but this one happened to be a 7 hour drive.
It was worth it.
We had a great time!
Only rained one day, but we made the best of it.
I even have tomorrow off work,
so my vacation is not over.

The baby is so active.
He is waking me up at night now because of his movements.
I am still at the point where I like it :)
We call him the squirm-er.

We are in Florida

We decided to try to have a weekend of fun for just the two of us (technically 3 I guess, we did bring our unborn son with us). So we are in Daytona Beach Florida.

Today we visited a lighthouse and hiked up 200 ish stairs to the top and saw some beautiful views.

Then we stopped at the beach. Now we have been to the Pacific and the Atlantic. I am pleased to say that the water was pretty warm. James decided that I needed to save an innocent jelly fish stranded by the low tide. I just know that he is going to bite me tomorrow when we are really in the water.

We love technology

I miss my family sooooo much! The furthest I have been away is for college and it was only a 45 minute drive. But tonight we had a great time chatting with James best friend and his sweet wife! This is Mike and Amanda. We love them! We got to video iChat and see their new house and James showed off his TV. We took this picture after James had been playing with our camera effects, so our faces are a little distorted in the top corner, but he had fun!

P.S. Ev and Mom it is time to get the video chat working!!!

Belly Update

Week 26. I feel like I have doubled in size in the last 2 weeks! Our little boy is moving all over the place inside of me. I am not sure he is going to stay in my belly for another 100 days. I am hungry :).

Things I like about the south

James is so sweet always circling the parking lots to find the best parking spots. This one was at best buy. It even makes me like best buy a little more. They are not only at best buy, but they are every where. Isn't that so thoughtful of them, how did they know that my tail-bone has been sore???

New Stuff

So when we moved we gave away a lot of stuff that it would not be worth it to ship out here. James is so wonderful at taking care of me and here he is making me dinner on his new BBQ. Isn't he so cute!
Yes his shirt does say :she's so lucky" with a huge finger pointing to me. No comment. He loves me.

Getting settled

We are slowly but surely getting settled. James has mounted his TV on the fireplace. Notice all of the tragic cords hanging in the front of the beautiful mantle. I am trying to be a patient wife. He is working on getting an entertainment center and then he will hide the cords. I am getting settled too, all of my shoes are unpacked and my clothes are organized! It is so nice not having to open a suitcase every time I want to look at my clothes. Not that this feels like home, but it is getting more comfortable.
What makes you feel like home?

I love random gifts

My Mom is so thoughtful. You see ever year my grandma has her friends from college up to the family cabin in CA. This year I sadly had to miss seeing all our friends, but my mom sent me a little gift. Jim is one of the best cooks. I look forward to his home made treats all year long. He makes the best avocado gazpacho. So my mom sent me a few avocados since they cost a fortune to buy out here.
Notice that she spent 11 dollars to ship these precious CA avocados to me... it might cost a little less to buy them here. They were even individually bubble wrapped! But I do have a huge smile on my face!!!!
Thanks Mom! Great job!
