Happy Halloween

Today started with lots of fun!! I have the brilliant ideas and James makes them all happen. I love to see the smiling faces on my patients on Halloween when I am wearing a ridiculous costume and this year I had to get creative. I decided to be a cat and my belly served as the fish bowl. Notice that the fish are scared of the big cat. James painted this on my belly the night before. Lots of people had a great laugh at work today.

Then we came home and had a quick costume change to Jack and Sally.... James' favorite Halloween movie characters :)

Our neighborhood has a parade and pizza party. After we were visited by the Statham's..... Superman (Mike had to wear James' costume!), a little frog, a fireman and a princess. So cute!

even the Stuckey's brought Pizza and hung out waiting to see James scare some older kids.

I got into the decorating this year and carved a pumpkin. Mine is the happy bat. James did all the rest. Isn't my husband so amazing, I can't believe he did that house free handed!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FRIENDS!

Is this nesting?

My nesting means that James is busy. He was being such a great husband and putting together all of the stuff I can not get on the floor to do. Then he had a realization, "I just know that this is going to be my whole life now... putting together baby stuff. Then it will be bikes and kid stuff." Just another reason why I love my husband.

We got a pack-and-play and a swing for James to assemble.

Thanks to everyone that loved us and donated to the Culin Baby Fund!

Full day of CA fun

Being that our weekend was so action packed we met for breakfast at Ihop...

The off to Dr Koning's office for a 4D ultrasound. This is just a bad angle, but it makes my belly look so big! :)
We crammed 9 people in that little room. One big happy family.

We got to see his little feet... finally seeing what is kicking me all of the time.

Our boy is not shy. Again in his full glory! At least we know for sure that it is a boy and I am buying the right color clothes.

And his little face. This one is a little harder to see, but the dark spot on the left is his eye, then below it is his profile with a nose and his lips. His arm is wrapped around his neck. I think that he has my nose. Oh the wonders of technology!

Special thanks to the Konings.... for your love and generosity! You are such a blessing to us!

Then off to Del Taco for lunch...mmmm.. chicken soft tacos.

Then off to get my toes done at my favorite place in Huntington Beach.

We saw the Imai family> Baby evan is so tiny! And saw my brother's new house!! (reminding me that many things have changed since we left and life in Riverside is going on without us.

And finally to the Tonggs for a game of settlers and some BJ's pizza (thanks ev and Jeff) just for old times.

Catch you up part two

In california I got my hair cut, then went to take maternity pictures which you will see later.

We had a family dinner with the whole family! We are growing so fast.

And then we opened some presents from the fam :). James, of course, doing the honors of trying on the baby stuff. Isn't he cute?

Time to catch you up....

We went home to CA this weekend and saw everyone that we love! So now I need to catch you up on what we have been up to.

We were welcomed at the airport with oohs-and-aahhs over the growing belly.

Then it was time to eat. I had a list of all the places that I wanted to eat that they don't have in GA, like real mexican food. So we went to Miguel's.

Killing Bugs

So I am not so good at the killing of bugs. I am a typical girl. I jump and stand on a chair and scream for my husband to come and kill them. The worst is the spiders. I try to kill them so they don't eat me, but I always miss squishing them and they run away and come back to eat me later.

So this was on such spider. It was just outside of our front door and it was huge. So I did the only logical thing.
Called James....

He thinks that it is so funny to watch my expressions, so he took a few pictures.
Here I am begging so nicely for My dear protector to save me from the evil spider. It took a lot of convincing to get him to do the "murdering" as he calls it.

And here I am after he killed the spider.

belly update

Week 30
I thought that this was the classic picture of
barefoot and pregnant.
Time is flying by so fast!
The average baby is born between 38-40 weeks....
I am not a math genius,
BUT
that leaves only 8 weeks.
I am in single digits
eek
these last 7 months have flown by
I am sure that the next 2 will also!
Until then I will keep the updates coming.

Welcome to the neighborhood

Only in the south....
We were welcomed to the neighborhood with a large food basket topped off with a big red bow. I have never had a welcome basket before. In our last house we only know 1 neighbor because my parents happen to know them and they told us the house was for sale. I am not sure what has been coming over us. We are outside doing yard work, planting plants, walking around the neighborhood and talking to our neighbors. Its fun.
I am still struggling with making this feel like home. Hopefully we will get some pictures on the walls, maybe then it will feel a little more like home.

Getting ready for baby

Well James is not too sure why we are having to buy tons of stuff for this new member of our family that is so small. He reluctantly went driving around looking at garage sales and we found the exact crib that I have been wanting. We are both realizing not only how expensive this little thing is, but how different our lives are going to be when he gets here.
I am so amazed every day, every time he kicks and squirms, that I have such a miracle growing inside of me.
I am so blessed to be able to grow this baby and care fro it before he is even here. I am not taking this job lightly. It requires lots of sleeping and resting while James is working and even generous amounts of ice cream.

Sorry I have to get sentimental and share my prayer for tonight:
Lord, I will never be worthy of this life that you have trusted us to show this child who You are. Show me how to love him, how to discipline him and more importantly how to point him to you.

Belly update

29 weeks and getting bigger and bigger.
